Packaging Design

Packaging Design with Dielines and Print-Ready Files

Boxes, labels and sleeves built for production—not a presentation mockup that cannot fold. Our designers create product labels and packaging systems with brand-consistent hierarchy, barcode and legal zones, and print-ready files. Your vendor prints and assembles.

For visual-presentation planning without production files, see the product design guide. This page is the service that turns packaging and label plans into dielines and print files.

Overview

Packaging that can actually go to a printer

Shelf and unboxing both fail when the file is a pretty render with no cut path. We work on the dieline: panels, glue flaps, barcode and legal blocks, then hand off files your vendor can print.

For brands that need professional product label design, we can develop front and back labels, branded label systems, multi-SKU families, barcode/QR placement zones and print-ready label artwork that stays consistent with cartons and sleeves. Planning hierarchy and panels first? Read the product label design guide.

This sits under merchandise design. It is not industrial product engineering, and it is not a substitute for a structural packaging engineer when you need a new untested carton.

What's Included

What packaging design includes

Structure plus brand layout. We do not stock boxes or run a print plant.

01

Dieline-based layouts

Artwork built on your vendor template or a measured structure—not a pretty mockup that cannot fold.

02

Cartons, sleeves and labels

Folding cartons, mailer graphics, bottle/jar labels, front/back wraps and multi-SKU label families when those surfaces are in scope.

03

Brand and legal hierarchy

Logo, product name, claims and required copy placed so they survive a 3-foot shelf view.

04

Print-ready files

Bleed, color notes and high-resolution art packaged for your printer—not a flattened social mock.

05

Unboxing add-ons when scoped

Inserts, belly bands or thank-you cards that match the carton—not a separate merch dump.

06

Retail and ship-ready thinking

Front panel for shelf or PDP; back and flaps for facts. We design the surfaces; we do not ship boxes.

Why Graphic Digits

Why brands use us for packaging artwork

Production files, not unlimited-edit slogans or a box factory.

  • Printer-first files — Bleed, dieline and color notes your vendor can use.
  • Brand, not clip-art cartons — Layout follows your identity, not a stock template look.
  • Scoped revisions — Rounds are in the quote so print dates can hold.
  • Honest manufacturing line — We design. We do not print, glue or ship packages.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about packaging design

Do you print or manufacture packaging?
No. GraphicDigits designs dielines, layouts and print-ready artwork. You or your packaging vendor handle board, print, finishing and fulfillment. We can note bleed, color and structural specs so files match how you plan to produce.
How is this different from the product design article?
The product design guide covers visual presentation planning—shelf hierarchy, labels and ecommerce shots. This service page is production work: dielines, panel layouts and files a printer can run. Use the guide to plan; use this page to get artwork.
What is a dieline, and do I need one?
A dieline is the flat structural template showing cut, fold and glue. If your vendor already has a stock carton, we design onto their template. If you need a custom size, we work from their spec or a measured sample—we do not invent untested structures.
What should I send before a packaging project?
Brand files, required legal copy, product dimensions or a vendor dieline, and where it will live (shelf, mailer or both). Photos of a current box help. Incomplete regulatory copy is the usual reason files stall at print.
Can you design labels only, or full cartons?
Either, when scoped. Our designers create product label artwork for bottles, jars and wraps, or full folding cartons and sleeves. A label on a stock bottle is a different job from a custom carton plus sleeve—say which surfaces print so we scope the right deliverables.
Where can I learn how product label design is planned?
Use our product label design guide for hierarchy, panels, SKU systems and print handoff planning. This packaging service page is where we scope and produce the print-ready label or carton artwork.
Do you offer unlimited revisions?
No. Revisions are scoped in the quote. We refine within that round count so structure, copy and color can actually lock for print.
